Big East makes deal with ESPN

On ESPN.com, the Big East finalized a $130 million deal to continue their coverage of some athletic programs. However, Cincinnati is still looking for another conference to join in the future. Personally, this whole TV deal with ESPN will help the Big East in the short run, but I think it will be in trouble because the conference doesn't have legitimate teams to compete with the other conferences, especially in football.

While Cincinnati is looking to join the ACC, they might want to consider the Big Ten because of geographic location and the Big Ten has more to offer with coverage and money. Therefore, this deal is good for the Big East, but they should have taken the $1.17 billion deal five years ago. If they took that money at that time, then the conference probably would not have lost some members.

Boise State's blue uniforms

On FOXSPORTS.COM, Boise State maybe forced to wear an alternate uniform at home because the NCAA is making a rule for teams to not "camouflage" themselves if their teams colors match the color of the football field. I think this rule is silly because if someone wants to win at Boise State, no matter what color uniforms they're wearing, the visiting team must play better than Boise State. Therefore, the NCAA should not make this a rule for Boise State, but simply let the teams play the game no matter what color uniforms the teams are wearing.

Nebraska Colorado rivalry renewed

Nebraska and Colorado will renew their college football rivalry in 2018. This is good college football because former Big 12 members will be playing each other, but from different conferences (Big Ten and Pac 12) which will have national implications concerning the race for the national championship. Nebraska should have the edge because of the recruiting class they run and the kinds of athletes they bring in from within the state of Nebraska.

The Super Bowl 47 Blackout

At the beginning of the second half of Super Bowl 47, the Superdome experienced a blackout for thirty-four minutes. When the game was over, the Baltimore Ravens were planning on suing the city of New Orleans for the blackout because they were complaining that it may have cost them the game.

My first reaction to seeing the blackout was terrifying because I thought somebody or something was attacking the stadium. In other words, the safety of all the people in the Superdome was my primary concern and thankfully there wasn't an attack on the stadium. Therefore, the Ravens should stop whining and move on to next year.

Please comment on this unknown event that occurred in New Orleans. I would like to hear your reactions.
